State of Confusion by Michael L. Poirier

Mathew Cave is a young hockey player that falls for a quiet young girl. After the second meeting, he is informed by Elizabeth, that her father is the Prime Minister of Canada. Not to be out done, Matt reveals that his father is a construction superintendent for a firm in Ottawa. The ensuing courtship plays out at Matt's house with his father and mother trying to create a normal environment for the young lady... and her body guard. When Elizabeth decides that her father needs a lesson in reality, she sneaks off to Matt's place with the body guard and father in hot pursuit. The Prime Minister, Steven Cauldwell, has faced numerous challengers in his career, but none as complex as Mr. and Mrs. Cave.
