It’s 1983 and pickling season is upon us. Dana, a 50ish, single mom is all set up with bushels and bushels of cuc’s and boxes of jars. It’s a good thing Mrs. Mitchell’s Pickles sell out every year cause her 15 year old daughter, Georgie, needs new winter boots and ( lord give me strength) a new bra. As usual Georgie’s older sister, Bobbie, is coming home from the city to pitch in but she’s bringing troubling news. Add to the mix the county’s newly appointed food safety inspector, Lloyd, who not only threatens to shut down production but lets slip a family secret that plunges the whole household into chaos. A story of love, laughter and what it means to be a family. Oh yes, and pickles.
