Churn by Mansel Robinson

Teenagers are asking adults a simple question: “What kind of world are you leaving us?” And they have a simple accusation: “You had one job – to make us feel safe. You are derelict in your duty.”

Churn is a three-hander for women: a grandmother and her two teen-aged granddaughters, Emma and Charlotte. Charlotte is a dark and troubled DIY musician who reveals herself in song - songs she calls suicide notes.

To get Charlotte off this fatal trajectory, Emma has developed an eccentric but heart-felt plan of attack: a world-wide travel itinerary to sites of decency and heroism. But now they’ve gone missing.

Churn: strong women, black humour, poetry, maybe even hope.
