Dr. Henry Howard Holmes, also known as H.H. Holmes was one of the first documented American serial killers. His story sounds like a work of fiction, but his macabre tale is as factual as it is terrifying. During the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago, Holmes preyed on the public; in particular, young women. His hotel, dubbed "Murder Castle" by the media was merely two miles from the fairgrounds and contained various tools he required for his butchery. The entire design of the castle from its inception was to be a place where Holmes could satiate his demonic hunger.
