When Dave Abbott and his family rent out an apartment to the new lawyer in Lynor, they get caught up in a series of events that pits them against powerful forces in their insular, small Canadian town. Masks are dropped, people exposed, and the shock of an invisible, insidious reality in the town is laid bare. As overt and undercurrent elements of the town coalesce against them, Dave and his family face the consequences of 'standing against the crowd', and the realization that the course of their lives is changed forever.
